Horizon canopies with tie rods over a harbourside cafe, finished for the coast.
Overview
A new cafe with views across the Manukau Harbour needed shelter that would not get in the way of the view. Horizon did it with a folded aluminium panel and tie rods.
Evergreen Cafe looks across the Manukau Harbour and inlet. Visitors stop for the view, and the building had to keep that view open.
The design called for canopies and opening roofs that double as protection from passing showers.
The pre-engineered Horizon canopy made the build simpler for the contractor, who finished the cladding before the canopy panels went up.
It is supported with tie rods and finished in a durable Dulux Duratec powdercoat, suited to the coastal location.
